Standing Order #23 - Media

PURPOSE
The purpose of this Standing Order is to state the PCSAR policy and procedures for handling media content.
SCOPE/POLICY
It is the policy of PCSAR to document meetings, training, or calls through photographs or video to be used for training, education, public information, or other allowable purposes.
RESPONSIBILITY
Implementation of this standing order is the responsibility of the Assistant Team Leader – Administration, all participants of the Public Relations Committee, and all other team members.
PROCEDURE
All photographs, video, or audio taken while on PCSAR business (meetings, training, calls, etc) are property of PCSAR.
The use of cell phones to capture photographs, video, or audio on calls is prohibited. Digital cameras are provided in vehicles for documenting calls. Personally owned cameras may be used when PCSAR cameras are not available. Photographs, video, or audio from calls will not be published in any medium/format without prior approval from a member of the Public Relations Committee. Photographs, video, or audio shall only be used for purposes permissible by law.
All photographs, video, or audio items posted to social media sites operated by PCSAR shall first be reviewed by a member of the Public Relations Committee.
Photographs, video, or audio items posted to personal social media sites depicting PCSAR activities shall not reflect negatively upon PCSAR and shall be approved by a member of the Public Relations Committee.
