Standing Order #24 - Length of Service Awards

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Standing Order is to state the PCSAR policy and procedures addressing length of service awards and service/retention incentives.

SCOPE/POLICY

PCSAR may implement length of service awards to serve as a retention incentive for trainees and team members.

RESPONSIBILITY

Implementation of this standing order is the responsibility of the Assistant Team Leader – Administration.

PROCEDURE

  1. Length of service awards shall be presented to qualifying members at the regularly conducted PCSAR business meeting of their anniversary month or, for trainees, the first business meeting after qualifying training is successfully completed. Awards for attaining team member status shall be issued upon acceptance.

  2. The above list may be changed based on current item availability; items may be substituted for equivalent value items.

  3. Years of service shall be calculated cumulatively from member acceptance date (the date the person has been voted on the team as a full team member); time in leave of absence, inactive, or special resource status shall be subtracted from length of service.

  4. This Standing Order shall be retroactive unless declined by the team member.
